Practising conventional biotechnology

PROSPECTS OF THE INDUSTRY  & OPPORTUNITIES FOR BANKS:

India has been practising conventional biotechnology for several decades. However, during the last five years, genetic engineering, immunological techniques, cell culture methods and hybridoma technology are increasingly being used to manufacture new products and research in these areas in the country has intensified. Sector-wise estimates of current and  future consumption of biotech products are furnished below:

                                    Rs. in million
Biotech Products    Actual Consumption
1999    Future Consumption Estimates
2005    Future Consumption
Estimates
2010
Human & Animal Healthcare Products    32240
    35320    93540
Agriculture Products (incl. seeds)    25670    28880    78720
Industrial Products    27090    28500    53590
Other Biotech products    1040    1300    7940
Total    86040    94000    233790

The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) is the nodal agency for policy, promotion of R&D, international co-operation and manufacturing activities. The government has been increasing the outlays for biotechnology over the past decade. The budgetary allocations have gone up by a tremendous amount from Rs.404 million in 1987-88 to Rs.1138 million in 1997-98 and to Rs.2356 million in 2002-03. The Govt. is also planning to introduce additional venture capital funds in line with its technology development fund (TDF) to promote small and medium biotech enterprises.

A study conducted jointly by BioSpectrum and the Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises (ABLE) indicates that the Indian Biotech Industry recorded a total turnover of Rs.1830 crores (US $ 400 million) in 2002-03. Exports contributed significantly in the growth of the industry as it comprises 53 per cent (Rs.975 crores) of the total market for biotech products. The industry is estimated to grow by 25 – 30 per cent in 2003-04. Investments are expected to double in the next two years. Total investment in the biotech sector has risen from Rs.505 crores in 2001-02 to Rs.635 crores in 2002-03.

Venture capital funding of about Rs.3000 million has been estimated for the biotech sector. SIDBI and ICICI have committed about 35% each. Banks still have a major role to play in the funding of this sector.  Considering the growth prospects of the industry, Commercial Banks have tremendous scope to participate in the development of this new growing segment. The Banks will have to understand the specific requirements of the industry, especially in the area of R&D and develop new products to suit the requirements of the industry to reap rich dividends in  near future.

The Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 (Drugs Act)
The Drugs Act and Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 (the Rules) regulate the import, manufacture, distribution and sale of drugs in India. It provides the procedures for testing and licensing of new drugs. The main objective of the Act is to ensure availability of standard quality drugs and cosmetics to the consumer. In order to achieve the objectives, a drug is defined comprehensively to include various substances in the definition of drug. The responsibility to enforce the Act is entrusted with both the Centre and State. The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, headed by the Drugs Controller General of  India (DCGI) is mainly responsible for coordinating the activities of the state drugs control organisation, laying down policies, and ensuring uniform implementation of the Act throughout the country.

The procedures under the Drugs Act involve obtaining a series of approvals for the different stages at which the drugs are tested, before the DCGI grants the final license to allow the drug to be manufactured and marketed.

The Environment Protection Act, 1986 (EPA)
The EPA authorizes the central government to protect and improve environmental quality, control and reduce pollution from all sources, and prohibit or restrict the setting and/ or operation of any industrial facility on environmental grounds. The biotechnology regulatory approval process was developed within the framework of this act by way of  ‘Rules’ made by the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) and Department of Biotechnology of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Cell Rules, 1989
Manufacture, import and storage of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in India is regulated by the Manufacture, Use, Import, Export and Storage of Hazardous Micro-organisms/ Genetically Modified Organisms or Cell Rules, 1989 (Rules). These Rules are made under delegated powers given by the EPA. the rules are framed by MoEF with the objective of protecting the environment, nature and health in connection with the application of gene technology and micro-organisms.  The rules define micro-organisms to include ‘ all the bacteria, viruses, fungi, mycoplasma, cell lines, algae, protodones, and nematodes’ indicated in the schedule and those that have not been presently known to exist in the country.

Biological Diversity Bill
India has a rich and varied heritage of biodiversity, encompassing a wide spectrum of habitats from tropical rainforests to alpine vegetation and from temperate forests to coastal wetlands. As a signatory of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), India has the responsibility of protecting the sovereign rights over its biodiversity, which is considered to be the raw material for the biotechnology industry. The Biological Diversity Bill, 2000 (Biodiversity Bill) was introduced in Parliament in May, 2000 and is currently under review from a Parliamentary Committee. The Biodiversity Bill has made provisions to regulate the flow of genetic material and the traditional knowledge of its use, with equitable benefit sharing with the local communities. It seeks to protect the country’s biological resources from foreigners but gives Indians free access to these. The Bill envisages setting up of a National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) to regulate the movement of bio-resources in the country.

Various rules & regulations governing bio-tech industry

The progress of this industry depends on various regulations like Patents Law including product patents, Plant Varieties Protection legislation, Biological Diversity Bill, 2000, Drugs and Cosmetics Act, Environment Protection Act, Cell Rules, etc. The provisions of these regulations are discussed briefly hereunder :-

Patents Law

Intellectual Property (IP) is the most valuable asset of a biotechnology company. IP rights can protect the tremendous research efforts of innovators from having their innovations replicated by competitors. Some of the forms of IP with respect to biotechnology are patents, trademarks, copyright, trade secrets, plant breeder’s rights and industrial designs. The most important IP rights for biotechnology companies tend to be patents. India had a product patent regime for all innovations as per the 1911 Act, up to 1970. The Patents Act, 1970 excluded pharmaceuticals and agro-chemical products from eligibility for product patents, in order to provide for development of local pharmaceutical industries. Under Section 5 of the Patents Act,  patents are presently restricted to the methods or process of manufacture and not extended to the substances/ products themselves. This resulted in development of considerable expertise in reverse engineering of drugs that are eligible for patent as products throughout the industrialized world but unprotectable  in India.

With  a view to comply with the WTO commitments on patenting of pharmaceuticals (and  agro-chemical) products, India has started on a process of amending the Patents Act by providing exclusive marketing rights (EMRs) and creating a mailbox system for patent applications for a period of five years or until the patent is granted or rejected, whichever is earlier. The provision relating to EMRs was introduced in the Patents (Amendment) Act, 1999. The amended Act grants the inventors what is known as ‘pipeline protection’.

The steps taken by the Government are within the broad framework of procedures and principles of the WTO. In terms of the TRIPS Agreement, India has time till January 1, 2005 to extend patent protection to this area. In order to bring about an effective growth in the biotechnology sector, the industry will have to change its orientation and focus on R&D. Product patent protection is expected to encourage research in developing inexpensive drugs that suit the Indian disease profile.

Plant Varieties Protection

Under the TRIPS agreement India is obligated to put in place a sui generis plant varieties protection (PVP) law. The Government of India has since introduced a bill, Protection of Plant and Varieties and Farmers Rights Bill, 2000 (PVP Bill) in this area. The PVP Bill is designed to recognise farmer’s rights over his seeds. It also has a provision for national gene fund for sharing the benefits with the traditional conservers of the variety. This bill will have implications for bio-agro sector. The concept of plant breeders’ rights arises from the need to provide incentives to plant breeders engaged in the creative work of research which sustains agricultural progress through returns on investments made in research and persuade the researcher to share the benefits of his creativity with the society.

Non Congress chief ministers oppose NCTC

National counter terrorism centre was opposed by non-Congress chief ministers at the meeting held at New Delhi. Ms. Mamata Banarjee opposed the move and joined with what non-Congress chief ministers are saying. They said NCTC will violate countrys federal structure, the centre effort to generate consensus among various stakeholders of decision making authorities fell flat with the more opposes than the earlier meet. Tamilnadu chief minister said home ministry treats states like pawn on a chess board. The NCTC is now been notified and should be kept in abeyance as told by

Tamilnadu chief minister.

She emphasized NCTC will create greater distrust among centre and state, as this will overtake power of the state , as this will overtake the power of the state. Tamilnadu chief minister was so critical in her speech that she asked the centre to keep their house in order, instead of advising states on principle of administrations. Tamilnadu chief minister further said the way things are evolved with the creation of NIA and NCTC and with the proposed amendments to RPF Act and BSF Act, we seem to be headed towards an autocracy consisting of government of the centre, by centre and for the centre.

Home minister stressed

the need that the counter terrorism is a shared policy that is what the constitution says. Gujarat chief minister uttered that even after years of Batla house encounter, union government seems uncertain whether or not it is a genuine encounter between terrorists and Delhi police which functions under ministry of home affairs. Prime minister stressed the need that it is not our government intuition to alter distribution of power between the states and the centre.

Odisha chief minister said

NCTC is unacceptable in its present form. He suggested a sub committee headed by Tamil Nadu chief minister to be set up to address the concern posed by some states. Odisha chief minister stressed that such an organization should not be part of intelligence system and IB. All operations should be joint operations with then support of sate police and NCTC should be independent and neutral organization and its control should not be with centre or states. No where in the world this type of security agency is under the purview of national security agencies. Concurrence of state government should be taken for forming focus groups to deliberate issues and problem areas and state jurisdiction must be supported and acclaimed. Odisha chief minister opposed the provision of NCTC can assume command over any crisis situation and unilaterally act without regional sentiments. If this happens, that is going to undermine the states power and vitiate federal structure, in this way this can create and form divisive powers and it is bad for Indias federal structure and running of democracy which has been created by years of sacrifices; Odisha chief minister said in the meeting of NCTC.

Centre promises

to address the states concern of State government on locating NCTC in IB and its operational power in exceptional circumstances. Home minister assured all state chief ministers that he would be carefully consider all suggestions. He stressed the need to measure all suggestions with the open mind and heart.

Untold crisis story in China

The ultimate challenges of growth is concerning with feelings of people whether they are fairly treated or are being cheated by government of the day.  The main crunch of problem is with economic reform, it is literally shaking the world, through it capitalism is being brought forward and also with it comes the capitalism diseases of inequality, poverty, increase in distance between urban and the rural, land disputes, agitations, environmental destructions and many more concerning hazardous effects which is being torrentially affecting modern civilizations with its prior and after effects. India is facing similar problems at stretch but due to strong and vibrant democracy with India it is being widely discussed and government of the day is listening to these ongoing and undercurrent demands. There are peoples agitation in India like that of Nandi gram agitation and Annas movement, it is being widely pursued and propagated by people and it is bring goodness to society.

B (12)

The problem:

In case of China it is always a different story takes an example of this and we try to see it in depth to see what it is going to make effect on China. In 2006 villagers protested in Dongshan, southern China against seizure of land for power plant, police took stringent action, many killed and the requisite power plant was built. Rural jobs has been reduced drastically and that gives way to massive exodus of rural to urban transfer and this creates chaos and make huge disturbances at urban areas. A large number of people face unemployment due to advent of privatization especially in north east China.  With concerning to finance areas, people are becoming more and poorer and for this entire significance of agro economics is being broken to the ribs and that is why mass number of people became unemployment.

Unemployment and financial difficulties led to massive ethnic clashes , disturbances , and that has rippling effect so as to say the situation of Xinjiang , Chinas largest province with forty five percentages of Muslim Uighur , has been opposing ruthless suppression and constant population transfer. It is the second biggest province of China. The largest province of China Tibet also feeling the same way as that of Xinjiang and these are making massive headaches and China administration is facing this massive dilemma which they are not finding the suitable solutions to reach at the conclusion.

Diagnosis:

If all these situations are examined properly with clear mind and diligent heart , all these problems seems to be seen as ethnic problems out side but  all are political problems which is connecting with financial problems. Bo Xilai Chinas most powerful provincial leader presumably is facing with the some kind of arrest.  Bo wants to float a new political party with core socialist values and want to perform a perfect red culture movement. This gave thunder shocks to China premier Wen , coup rumour spread far and wide , internet and blogs are banned but tension prevails .

The socialist China is going to wards capitalist momentum leaving aside core socialistic values and China is feeling deep under the hood of crony capitalism. It seems they are soon reaching out to point of diminishing returns and soon they will find no where to go. French people voted out Nicholas and voted in socialist president after two decades. This should be the eye opener for China establishments. America and Britain are reeling under extreme capitalism toll, unemployment and price rise is souring higher day by day. It seem then world is looking forward to going back to some sort of socialistic values to preserve the interest of stake holders and the wide population at large. China should introspect what should be the ultimate goal of growth and who should be benefitted in reality except a quite a few as is then situation now and it is better late than never and one single populist step can benefit both the consumer and the company is to be realized and it is always good to make a fresh start and listen tom various important parameters of people to make it happen and make the benefits reaching out to extreme poor, let the state come forward and help them to become self sufficient . Only, theories and the policies and announcement and the perceive of people will not work now, people are becoming more and more realistic and they want to be part of the nations building and it is high time politicians must realize this ultimate truth and go ahead with their welfare measures whether it is with democracy or with communist country like that of China.

How to curb naxalism

There should be a national will by the governments of centre and the Naxal affected states to fight against continuous violence and abductions by Naxalites or other armed groups. There should be a unitary policy without delay by the centre against the horrendous case of kidnappings by Naxalites and it is now becoming a habit for them and it is high time centre with the consultations of states should create one uniform policy. India is a vast country but the constitution of India must be abided by all the groups and naxals and they should not resort to violence. They are killing security persons and other tribal if they are not being supported. It is high time every political party must raise their arm against the atrocities created by Naxals and also the genocide they are making at fat and wide of India where for years the administrations failed to reach but that should not be the argument for Naxalites to kill and destroy the administration and making the India state a hostage. Through out the world Communism is almost finished but here in the distant part of India this seems to be the order and the way they are doing violence on innocent citizens cannot be tolerated. Who has given them right to kill a person this is atrocious they can not say that state administration and police are doing this but they also be protected by court but here the Naxalites are making mayhem and mockery of system and everywhere it is the same story the abductions, kidnapping, ransom and gruesome murder.

India government at centre and states affected by Naxalism should learn their first lesson from recent two events involving Odisha MLA Hikaka and Bastar Sukma collector Menon. The tragedy is that both the person named above has been doing the people services and returning from their job and they are abducted by the gun point for reason best known to the Naxalites. HIkaka does not reveal his security persons identity and that is why they are freed but with Menon the security persons has been killed with throat silted , is this the way the civilization live. The killing of this grue some act, and the pain at which that security person must have get before dying can it be imagined by Naxalites. India should consider Naxalite as the murders and brought back to the court to be tried under Indian judicial system. Killing of innocent civilians by the traitors such as Naxalites can not be tolerated and this must be buzz word of centre and state. Are we becoming soft and only doing the word wars, it is high time to act , Naxal have been making high profile abductions and continues to do so and releasing their colleagues and this is high time to have a correct and appropriate abduction policy so that whenever from now these kidnappings happen all the state or centre will adhere to such law parameters. It also seems that Naxals are losing ground and they are trying hard to be popular around the world by kidnapping high profiles, it is high time provincial governments should consider advancing and wiping out these traitors from land of high mineral resources.

Maoists are controlling some territories of seven states and now they are getting the arms, the million dollars is where they are getting these and how they are operating, who is backing them is there any influential persona behind this. These need to be going to the root cause of the problem and by reaching at the solutions you can get enough derivatives to solve this. It is true that government has been absent from these areas for many years and mainly due to these are tribal lands and need to be preserved from outside invasion. But now the Maoists and Naxalites are taking this as their opportunities and making most out of it and taking the tribal in their side, these are very minuscule number of tribal who are supporting them and making the worst of all things and worry factor for India state. What is the root cause of these problems? While I was stating at Nabarangpur in the early part of this century, I was there for three years and ours domestic help was a tribal named Laxmi and she was very devoted to work and honest. One day she said to my mother, that Laxmi father joined Naxal. Mummy asked why Laxmi, yours father joined Naxal, as her father was selling the handia(Tribal Liquer) to people now with Naxal. Laxmi said her father wants dress, meat and handia(Tribal Liquer) each day and due to poverty he cannot afford and that is why he joind Naxal and they are giving them these all days of the week. This is the story why the innocent and poor tribal are joining the Maoist. They are not joining them to make the revolution and create a state against the Indian state but they are simply joining to get food, dress and handia(Tribal Liquer). This is story of thousands of tribal who are joining Maoism and making the murder the order of the day to day life. Then , mummy called Laxmis father and talk to him , and then mummy gave him the job of driver , and he left Maoism and stay cool and believe in Indian state and now he is enjoying life even after we have left Nabarangpur and he is now driving the bus and earning money. Whenever he came to Bhubaneswar he used to meet us and thanks us for saving his life, he is happy and cheerful as ever. This story can be learnt by state governments and central government and know what is the root cause of this.

The root cause is the poverty and if government can reach at their place by breaking all the obstacles and then apprise them with various government welfare measures by not fighting what is for centre projects and what is for state , make the unified face and then it can fight this Naxalism with strong hand.  It is the poverty which drives poor tribal to this and try to break that part as Naxal can not compete with wealth of Indina and try to give more funds to tribal and make them more and more opposite to Naxal and then with their support attack Naxal and kill them at battle field , do not compromise and take to them as it is the battle within the state and the India state can not oblige to the mere concept of Naxalism which is dead one and ninety nine percentage of world population rejected it so it is high time to act and succeed. Find good talents from tribals and make them the adequate traing to play for hockley and for India fast bowling option and you never know one day they can bowl nearer to one hundred fifty kilo metres per hour at a fist pace. Make them go to scholl by bringing the cult of education and with quota and reservation for them they can get decent job and make the world happier just like the legislator Hikaka. Naxal trying hard to isolate the tribals so that they can control them , they are taking them to the age of middle ages by destroying mobile towers, schools everything and this is high time India state should act , the guys at the centre and at the states must realize this is  time to destroy Naxals from its roots so that it will not be reviving again and again. Naxal are parasites and they should be uprooted and also the person who is supporting Naxals must be taken house arrest as it is getting me pain to see that Naxal supporter are being invited to television chat shows and they are getting more and more time to talk and making their nuisances. The electronic media must adhere that these supporters of Naxals must not be advertised. It is time to take hard decision and live with by that decision to save India and make our future more and brighter and happier.

The gems of Indian folktales in the Vedic literature

It shows the experience and it upholds the ancient social and cultural history. In the ancient literature most of the writings are mainly the poetry version and with due course of time the prose and the essay part of the literature develops to its fullest extent. Ancient literature are poetry driven and wit due course of time it has been driven to prose centric.

There are plenty of stories in the Rig-Veda which may be acceptable as forerunners of Panchtantra. Story telling and listening is the birth born attitude of every reasonable human. Literature is the mirror of the society and for the ages it has been emboldened with various tales of lively stories and facts and that is going on for numerous years and continue to do so. Form the pre-historic era, the literature develops in the form of prose or the poetry in various dashboards. The old and ancient Sanskrit stories are some of the burning example and stress to the fact that the germs of Indian folk tales bear to the fact that it is engraved and engulfed from pre-historic times.

Panchtantra is related to birds and animals fables and it is the oldest in the history and the other related fables must have been inspired by this. IN Upanisheda , which is prior to Panchtantra there are various instances of fables and short stories and beautiful folk tales. The Baudhajatak related to Budhism depcts the various brith and life related fables of Lord Budha. There are plenty of stories related to Lord Budha in relation ship with animals and birds ad the derivative teachings has been much appreciated and religious. There are numerous folk tales, fables and traditons in the national epic of Ramayana, Mahabharata and Eighteen Puranna . These might be considerd as the store houses of Indian mythology that related to legends, popular and religious beliefs and superstitions. These are the gems of Indian folklore in Vedic literature.

The kathacharita sagar is related to rivers and the rivers speaking the language of humans. In the ancient time Indians used to travel a lot and around the world and this has been reflected with this epic. It deals with the history and dreams with the reality that I sprouting as the germs of Indian folktales. Why these trends occurred as there are many schools of thought and the predominant among these is that during those times no entertainment medium were available and in order to express love or respect some one gifts it in terms of poetry to achieve this. Most of these writings are anonymous and the origins of these are not known but it has been carried out and carried forward to these generations through customs and traditions. There are many happy occasions like that of marriage ceremony, festivals , celebrations where everyone is in the joyous mood and the songs written for these special occasions has been popular and with the passage of time it stays in the mouth of the people and being transferred to their next generations. According to Oxford; a ballad is a folk-song that tells the story with stress on the crucial situation and tells it objectively with little component on intrusion of personal bias. These are the gems of Indian folklore in Vedic literature.

ittech004

So, folk tales are the natural process of human thinking and it goes with the process emboldened with the thoughts to the mind then to the writers words. The Gatha Saptasati written in Marathi language is known for kosa. What is kosa? Kosa is a collection and accumulation of verses which are independent of each other without the connecting nodes attached to it. In the kavya the sentiment of love, the tender, romantic and the nostalgic feelings the persuasion of opinion is prominent and predominant. It has some outstanding, spectacular and striking effect.  Here no verse is closely attached to each other , having separate value and no strings attached to it but if you try to make the collection then it can be arranged in all possible groups and units relating to a particular topic. The kavya can be full of erotic ideas having titillating superficial exciting connotations the content of cognition; the main thing you are thinking about , your intention; what you intend to do , melodic subject of a musical composition all has been compounded to accumulate with these far flung ideas in the making.

It reflects upon the lyrical mind and has been gifted and imbibed with the most deserving phenomena and the subversion societal singing at is best sometimes foe the merry making and many a times for then glorious understanding of utmost human management.

These are written in the colloquial languages with characteristic of informal spoken language or conversation, in these writings female is not only the wife but also the lover and also the administrator. The female is crying for her husband who had gone to foreign land for business. The songs are more of dynamic in nature , they shared with people to people without being printed on paper a that time the printed work considered to be the static one ad that cannot be changed and remain as it is. Folk songs passed on from mouth to mouth and that are dynamic and unstable, it can be edited by all like the crowd sourcing and cloud hosing of modern day phenomena. They have having a fixed and unchanging value, restore by replacing a part or putting together what is torn or broken, cause to be firmly attached which is deciding upon or fix definitely which is make fixed, stable or stationary and it is continually shifting with varying inputs from time to time, it makes shift or exchange of ideas form one settings of context to the other it is something like changing of the gear. It is marked by the continuous change and effective action become different in essence; losing ones or its original nature, become different in some particular way, without permanently losing one's or its former characteristics or essence for example her mood changes in accordance with the weather and the poet goes on with this phenomena and trying to iterate various aspects of these emotions lay aside, abandon, or leave for another it becomes deeper in tone and clarity. These are the gems of Indian folklore in Vedic literature.

The have been lived through adversity and diversity through generations by wiping out all then obstructions and the breaks and have been inside the hearts of millions and still we are living with it , it seems a stupendous achievement. The authorship and the ownership has been lost in  the generations and the original content has been gone or has been modified with due course of time but  the real flavour of the music is still at large in the minds and the hearts of people and it is going on  inside the mind and the hearts. Such songs are different from the real literary works in terms of sense and the mind but the charm embedded within it has been glorious and brilliant to the utmost senses of the masses and it is still capturing the millions through heart and the mind, it is still vibrating inside the hearts of many, these songs shows us the testimony of the fact that the real value of singing and the literature can remain within the hearts of millions. The work and then poetry of the individual does not become overnight becomes the ballad or the folklore , it goes with the testimony of times and it captures through many hurdles and the deeps and the dense forests , it under goes the peoples acceptance like nothing and goes on to be captured and taken over by the masses in terms of billions who wants it to make it their life and want to feel the sense of real life and the languages , and it goes on and takes the place of many before being change again and again and ultimately it touches the status of folklore and it goes into the masses and recognised by the masses and their reflection has been seen with it with the utmost importance and the wonderful attendance and the seer popularity can be of utmost importance fact of brilliant significance.

You can find the nave description and the certain sense of pride and sometimes the inbuilt and the ingrained prejudices which has been tremendously qualified with significance with the astonishing brilliance and the achievement par excellence with verbal clarity and in built description of the habitual brilliance by picking out the day in day out activities in fullest of detail and with maximum significance. These merely taken out the token of life from the day to day activities of people and they able to recognise the fact and can be seen and feel with it and this has many mass appeal as it related to the masses in  many significant ways. The mass can inter act with it and can see the reflection with it and can feel the same way as it is undergoing. The repetitions of the purposes can undergoes the similar tendencies in then future but the present can not be undermined with the most popular synthetic artistic foundations. It seems that the folklore and for the all the times and it is for the masses and it seems the dream of the common man goes with the dream with these master acts of folklores. Sometimes these can be narrative and sometimes can be descriptive in nature to attend the duly filled narrative descriptions in habited with. Sometimes, it can be lyrical and sometimes it is descriptive with lots of thought and the socialite issues attached to it which can be somewhat the reflections of the unique culture or else the positive factors of happiness is being inscribed in the performance oriented mannerisms. It reflects upon the lyrical mind and has been gifted and imbibed with the most deserving phenomena and the subversion societal singing at is best sometimes foe the merry making and many a times for then glorious understanding of utmost human management. In the folk poetry generally the singer gets the prominence and  he manages to give direction to their poetry management in some subtle ways and it shows the purely the personalised manner the intent and then observation of the singer in dealing with then competent source. The singer can modify the work to is convenience and this goes on to show the singers have the ability to manage and get new poetic version in their vision to get into the real poetic justice to the audience at large. A cold lager for hot tea

With each holiday’s time, my parents and young sibling tends to travel India and outside whenever we get the time and monetary resources. This has been ours experience of expedition of Kerala backwaters and some unforeseen raveling of truths and some facts which still to be digged in. When I was two to three years old and with my fading memory I recalled the fact of House boats of Kashmir and we stay in one house boat every time and with due course of time there builds a strong relationships as in my child hood we must go to Kashmir once in a year. Now the time changed and in the late nineties with the advent of terrorism, we ignore going to Kashmir and searched for similar locations and we found the place that the backwaters of Kerala. I am not an experienced travelogue writer but instead a good technology writer but due to the simple fact that From the very first year on this earth I tend to travel across all over India due to my daddy’s interest . Just like searching for words in the dictionary, my daddy always wants explore newer places, see the markets and the rates and also Hindu temples and lots of historical and mythological stuffs. As always, we will always search for the affordability factors before ours voyage starts and after we reach at Alleppey from my state of Odisha through flight and then through Mahindra XUV, we are maze dot see the cost of affordability and we took a taxi in the morning from Kochi and reach the hub of backwater tourism of Kerala. The houseboats can be hired for a day along with a cook for eight thousands rupees a day; it is a life time experience in the making. You can hire one local ferries and then you can go with it and reach at some local villages by the bank of back waters and there you can shop for foods and other sea related items and also some less costly foods which you can get with more than happy mindset.

You can hire a ferry, go to Kovalam, and return within one or two hours to Alleppey. After back water recedes and goes back to sea, these areas become more fertile and most of the rich foods of Kerala being cultivated here. Most of the rice and paddy crops are being developed here. In the vicinity we can sea a vast arena of half filled water and some where in between it is being divided through artificial lining of three to four straight-line coconut tress and that is making the entire scenery like deep sea blue syndrome. The ferry goes on and stopping at some stoppers and then the people goes in to it and out of it and somewhere near at some point we get tea and that is really fantastic as the taste of liquor is being fascinating though some more milk could have added to it. I t may be some personalized thoughts of how to take the taste of tea. The entire trip to Kovallam an back to Alleppe costs individuals twenty rupees and with the journey of utter significance and the beauties and vagaries of nature with a tea cup in my hand has been fascinating and enchanting. The local population on the ferry has been very friendly and they try to give suggestions to me through English mixed with Malayalam pronunciation. It is a good to listen to them and the way they try to make you understand has been fantastic. The ferry was non-motorized and could hear the sound of weather by the side and also some droplet of water drops on my palm and after some time it becomes salt an absorbing experience.

Back to ours hoe boat and ours designated cook served food with banana leaves. This remembers me some of the old marriage ceremony where we sued to get it at the ge together. The food cushion of the house boat has been fantastic with lot of green and leafy vegetables , sea foods though am not fan of it , steamed rice and other south Indian delicacies. The chutney consists of lots of coconut more than what I used to eat at Chennai during my post management days. Then we get back to go to the other side of back water views through some human handled boats. Here the back water is very narrow , even on the bank of it we can see the homes and people doing there daily works in between them. I dipped my hands in the water, daddy said to me not to do that, as he had observed that all the dirty things of these house holds also coming out and joining into this water so I stopped from doing this. This was ours third Kerala visit as prior visits are mostly concentrated with reaching at capital of Kerala and joining at various sea locations and enjoying the Kerala urban life. This time we scheduled ours journey such that we will experience this realm of back waters and how it is being through ours closest eyes. As we moved on inside the boat to advance areas we experience the coconut trees , small groovy islands, lots of birds and flowers blossoming inside the back water, with sun shine reflecting from the water and making the entire arena more whitish to see , it seems like we have been at paradise (swarga) with lots of dreams and void reality. Now we enter into an arena where no house holds are visible and the water is so clean and clear so that we can see through it and watch small fishes being swimming across and some collides with ours boat and making the direction reverse to swim across along with water.

A cold lager for hot tea

The backwaters of northern side of Kerala has been fascinating, the more you go the more surprise is stored for you. After some time we saw one enchanting lake with clear water and palm tress with sun shine reflecting through it , to the true to my heart it felt me like the Manasorabar, the feeling is deep within cannot be written it can be seen and felt at heart and mind. You can start yours journey from Alleppey and to the further north to explore more destinations , as far as yours finance goes it is strictly in the mode of yours own establishment, try this out , am sure you will have more stories to write and hear than to me.

The crest of a wave on a surf board

The train is running, it is a long distance train and pretty popular and one of the oldest in India. The Coromondel train, it is from Howrah to Chennai, I boarded at Chennai to Bhubaneswar as this is one train I always use while I am on the tour. Reservation one AC and so I am deeply satisfied that I will not be bothered by any strangers during my journey. Me and my wife’s birth are at the side upper and side lower and I had the experience of
good journey with this train and while seating on this train I am pretty proud of this. I and my wife’s seats am one compartment before the gates side so it is very convenient to use the toilet. The AC is the compartment is of very high order and am thinking about good things fro my return journey, having achieved a lot and seeing and meeting the doctor feeling extensively satisfied and gratified and we are talking about all these occurrences and what to prevent and how to prevent and how to manage the health in the future.  I was managing my luggage so that no other persons should occupy that privileges as we are both at the side upper and lower seats so , it is one privilege and the sense of privacy can be attained into. The train starts and after few moments I have seen my good old friends straight from my service days and from my College days.

He also came with his better half, we talked some time for few moments at least then I came back to my berth which is almost 12 seats far from my child hood friend‘s berth. In the friend’s berth out of four seats two are with the friends and his better half and in the other two four personas are seating out of it three ladies are seating and they are saying they are in the RAC. After some time friend realized that one lady who is almost 50 years old, is with the waiting list and that lady is saying that she is from a public sector company and she is emergency to attain the meeting that is why she came there rapidly. The ticket collector came and checked all the tickets but not the lady’s ticket, this surprise the friend as he was telling me this true happening inside the great coromondel express after the incident was over so am elaborating what he had told ne earlier.

My friend is always of a sheepish nature and he feels the ticket collector will tell that lady to get out of this AC cabin but instead that ticket collector bring that lady to another compartment and it feels something going on between them like some transactions which is known to many an that lady came back with a winning smile but without a valid ticket. How the coromondel ticket collector of AC allowed that lady inside the AC compartment without a ticket, that lady says she is wait listed and in rules she is not allowed inside the compartment but she is making the mockery of law and also with her the ticket collector bending all the rules of the railways and also it is not a good practice to allow strangers inside the compartment.  That lady has five luggage and imagine she is a wait listed ticket holder and she is illegally entering into ac compartments and invading the privacy of the fellow travelers and she is been helped amicable by the ticket collector of coromondel train and for what reason? Why she is been allowed to enter and the conductor also not been taking the strict action this is very sad and especially of coromondel a vintage train in its class and it is coming from the Chennai where I have seen everywhere from the railway reservation counter to the Apollo lift , people automatically in queue to wait for others preferences and that has been liked by me so much so that I have deep respect for the Tamil persons and their way of life and upbringing but so sad to feel the behavior of The ticket collector as it seems he is engaging in some sort of fraudulent activities,

At far this is not expected at the AC compartments at the cormondel express and it seems no security in place near the AC compartments and during the Vijwada and then Rajmehndry and then Vizag some persons standing nearer to the latrines of the AC compartments and this can be a really harassed situations for the ladies as well as the sober people. This has not been seen at coromondel from the experience of my old friend and to the no guard experience and then the unwanted persons standing nearer to the latrines at the AC compartments, and the most of it the behavior of the ticket collector and his greedy attitude in allowing the stranger inside the ac compartment reiterates the same thing that once Aristotle said Power corrupts and the absolute power corrupts. Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men. I can only hope at best to post a honest ticket collector inside the AC compartments of coromondel especially the train which starts from Chennai to Howrah and also adequate security must be provided . Then the question arises. If absolute power corrupts absolutely, does absolute powerlessness make you pure?

Happy Republic day

Happy 63rd republic day of India. The entire Indian Ocean around the globe is rejoicing to the tune of glorification of India’s Republic day. The tune and symphony of Republic day is a proud moment for all Indians living in India and around the globe. People first and the mission to protect India is always the motto of Air India. A few days ago Indian Air force women were officers landing air craft at Mt. Everest. This is the new beginning for modern Air Force of India. With the advancement of technology India is marching ahead. The Prime Minister of Thailand is the chief guest of India’s sixty third Republic Day. The long range and the high accuracy of Indian Air force is keeping us safe from envious enemies. Ours Jawans keep constant vigil on ours borders among various difficult situations. This has been done with the holistic approach to techniques and growth. Border Security Force’s tune “Vijay Bharat” has been exceptional. The naval contingent is the sign of brevity and might. Al these security forces are committed to garner the quality of life for all citizens of India. Drums, symbols, trumpets are sounding the glory of India. They ensure that ours independent always remains and we live in a safe and happy society. India has the largest unified society as a core. Assam Rifles' song “Desh ki hamen shan badhai ” has been exceptional. Twenty lakh square kilometers are protected by Indian coast guard. Let the history record us instead as a generation that made a great progress in the golden writings of the world. They are saving ours borders from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Rajasthan to Arunnachal Pradesh. They are singing the song Saren Jahan Se Achha Hindustan Hamara . They march in unity, they show the brevity , they attain the success ,they save the land as they stay awake in the scorching cold of minus forty degrees and they save ours borders from tiring summer of above forty five degrees. India is not merely as the world’s biggest democracy, it is the youngest nation state and becoming younger day by day. Normally, the two thirds of the population would be in the fifteen to fifty nine working age group over the next decade.

Men are born to succeed not fail

He is 37 years and his age is catching up as a sportsman many would say. Give him the honor as they did to Ganguly, Khumble and David’s ODI retirement. He worked hard and bound to fight back soon. He will silence his critics and makes all the stones thrower at him and converted them to milestones. Be it home or down under Laxman always prevails against Kangaroos. This series may be an exception Laxman’s contribution to Indian cricket , from swash buckling knock of 291 against Australia , at Edens’s in 2001 to 176 not out at the same venue against WI has been incredible, how can media for get it ? Kangaroos are playing in their own den, let us wait, when they reach and play in India, and a potential 4-0 slot of Australia in India will be a perfect recipe as we should call that Australia is playing at home and that is why they are winning. We have seen the England won at home defeated India but failed five zero los to India. Australia will be feeling the same at India. Australia coach M. Arthur boasting about his team’s win against India but what is new at it? India is always not good playing at Australia and also M. Arthur being slot miserably as South Africa coach as lost World cup to India and must be solace his wounded sole as if he had won the world cup and is why making statements at the media. At the beginning of the series there has been talk of Hussey retirement by partial Kangaroos media , after making a century after a long gap of time now the same Australia media is saying he is the future and now they are against Laxman. Now everything is forgotten and India media is following what Australia media saying a pattern known as colonialism or should I say virtual colonialism. Can India media support these greats and suggest how to improve and be positive. Support your team in hours of crisis and this applies to former greats like Kapil Dev and Gavaskar so that they will go over this slope, nothing is impossible, remember men are born to succeed not fail. Dhoni clears the air , that there is no such move of Laxman’s retirement. Dhoni hinted that there could be phasing out of senior players. It is natural and no question over it. In the last two years Laxman was the savior as the match winner or match saver for India. He scored when the team needs most and do we forget the knocks against the Lanka or at Mohali (vs Australia) or at Ahmadabad (NZ) or in South Africa. All these efforts came in last two years. In cricket, average does not matter for real cricket enthusiasts it only matters for the media persons .Laxman played very important innings when the team needed most but surprisingly the role played by India media sees like just the average playing. In the last two years and till the recently concluded WI series Laxman always be the savior for team India. I think the memory of critics are very short , critics which included many former players whose records now been mediocre in present of these greats are now questioning the currently greats. They are saying the age is catching up with Laxman and questioning his fitness but Laxman is always a safe catcher and he is no longer in the ODI. Laxman should not be bothered by criticisms of so called critics. He is always let his bat to do the talking. He has the ability to come good in the crunch situations.

Plenty of works remain to be done in Indo-Pak peace process

This article was written by me some times back and it is based on that perspective. The meeting between India PM and the Pak PM at the SAARC summit in Maldives has been positive. PM Singh praises Pak PM and Pak PM reciprocates. Plenty of work needs to be done. A Chinese proverb says “The more you sweat in peacetime, the less you bleed during the war.” But, sadly this does not apply to Indi-Pak relationship. It is complex and the more you try to solve it the more intrigue it becomes the day by day. The fragmented Pakistan polity, the critical role of the army in decision making at Pakistan, the authority of Pakistan army without the responsibility has been the stumbling block in relationship with India. History shows India is been always active in cooperating with it neighbor but due to not so cooperative attitude of western neighbor the peace process is often failing time and again. IN short, the engagement with the Pak’s political machinery will not bring any change. The delivering capacity and the final punch to solve all the problems rests with the hands of Pak army not in their political class as however time and again the political class of Pakistan boasts of. The recent announcement by Pakistan to grant the most favored nation’s status to India is a good gesture. History shows a strong business ties with countries will bring forward the most favorable peace as a force. In a safe and special environment, a lasting peace process is always necessity. Sometimes, the above mentioned Chinese proverb is not always appropriate and especially in the India –Pakistan situation Select Visions.

Terrorism as a state policy or an invisible state policy is a matter of grave concern. It can zero all the peace process within a blink of an eye. Pakistan is a victim of home grown terror, but when it affects India, and then it is the matter of grave concern. No country can interfere in some other country territory in any form. The terrorist’s safe heaven Pakistan must be dismantled. Afghanistan is the bone of contention between India and Pakistan. Pakistan should not consider Afghanistan as the zero sum game. Pakistan can contribute equally as India is doing at Afghanistan. The main aim must be for Afghanistan development and in the process it will lead to peace process of the great Indian subcontinent. The evergreen silk route between central and south Asia must be opened immediately. Peace process between India and Pakistan is crucial and paramount. Liabilities of the past should be erased. Remember, the past always has the glorious uncertainties. The vibrant and the glowing economic future is already in the reserve. Then only the great Indian sub continent can run like a car on a super highway , so everything now rest with the leaders and the statesman of both the countries.

The new year at Puri

The fantastic new year in the prospect with beautiful climate ushering with coolness decreasing slightly and slow drizzle in between. The people all around India flocking into Puri to see the glimpse of ours Lord of the Universe. The Jagannath and his elder brother and little sister. The number of people seems unbelievable high. There is no inch of land left where the people have not occupied. The flooding of population can be a challenge for the administrator and the administrator has done their duty fully accomplished with flying colors. The entire Puri town is lighted and the streets lights switched on entire night making it a visible and well cleaned. The visitors can take some precautions like go to sea in the front side of Puri Hotel, do not go to the far and wide of sea as they are lonely places and there crime happens. Puri Sea has the tendency of becoming dangerous; just touch the water of sea to get purified as there is popular belief. Going to the vegetable market just experienced on the new years day even at four P.M. the number of people reach at Puri, it is unbelievable but it is true to the sense. It takes about twenty minutes tom cross the grand Bajaj square. The queue to see the Lord Jagannath and the Lord’s popularity brings a huge number of devotees to Puri town. For the visitors watch out for the auto rickshaws. The most of the crime take place in the auto rickshaws, this is not o malign them but few auto rickshaw drivers have been committing the crime so always stay alert while sitting in any auto rickshaws. As visitors always be careful while to talking any shop keeper as most of them are very argumentative and you might fall in their trap suddenly. When shopping try not to give five hundred rupees to shop keepers as they will take the money from you acting as if they are talking in mobile and after few moments they will say they have received one hundred instead of five hundred rupees. So, it is better to avoid them and fall in their trap. Do not argument with the shop keepers as they are mostly criminals and back by some criminal head as you argument them they will unite and they can hit you so it is better to avoid them. So, it is better not to argument with them. This is not to terrify any visitors but it is always a great idea is to go with a caution so that you will not face any danger or disturbances.
